Product Description – Powder Tile Adhesive
With the advancement of technology and the introduction of new products and methods in construction, new products have been produced and presented to the market to develop and speed up the installation of ceramic and tile. One of the important products produced in the field of installing and fixing ceramic and tile is a variety of adhesives for installing ceramic and tile. These adhesives are produced and presented in different formulations depending on the type of use. One of the most widely used types of construction adhesives is cement-based powder tile adhesive, which is formulated and produced from cement, mineral fillers, and polymer resins to increase and strengthen the adhesive strength. Powder tile adhesive is based on cement reinforced with polymer and, due to the polymers used in the production of this product, becomes resistant to moisture after drying. Powder tile adhesive makes it easy to glue all types of ceramic and tile on the floor and body of halls, concrete and cement walls, and to glue tiles on tiles, and also creates an impermeable and stable surface against moisture. Due to the cement and polymer resins in its structure, powder tile adhesive has a higher adhesive strength than paste tile adhesive and is therefore considered the best option for installing tiles and ceramics on vertical surfaces. Another feature of this product is its resistance to temperature changes after drying.
An example of the best tile adhesives for installing ceramic tiles is powder tile adhesive because, after it has fully set, it creates a strong bond and can be said to create an extremely strong adhesion.
Tilers, construction contractors and all those who work in this field are looking for high-quality powder adhesives. Because powder tile adhesive is the best and most widely used product on the market for installing all types of tiles, ceramics and stone and can be used in all places. Tile adhesive is provided in powder form and must be mixed with water to form a paste-like mortar. Powder tile adhesive is a suitable alternative to traditional mortars.
Powdered tile adhesive packaging

Consumption of powder tile adhesive
The amount of powder tile adhesive used depends on the condition of the substrate (porosity and roughness of the surface) and the tile grooves, but on average, the amount consumed is about 2.5 to 4 kilograms to cover 1 square meter.
Properties and effects of powder tile adhesive
- Stable against sliding and limited structural vibrations
- High strength, resistance and adhesion without volume loss or cracking
- Reducing grouting costs behind tiles
- Easy to use and high speed of execution
- Reducing operational costs
- Increasing the indoor environment due to reducing the thickness of the tile mortar
- No need to mix any additional ingredients
- Maintaining adhesion against moisture and humidity
- Resistant to temperature changes after drying.
- Cost-effective compared to other tile adhesives
- Moisture resistant after setting
- Easy to mix with water
How to use powder tile adhesive
- The surface to be applied must be completely clean and free of any contamination, loose spots, grease, etc.
- If there is contamination, remove the contamination from the surface using water pressure (water jet) or sandblasting.
- Please note that at least 7 days must have passed since the newly cemented surface has cured.
- Each 20-kilogram bag of powdered tile adhesive requires 5 to 6 liters of water to convert into mortar.
- The operation of mixing water and powdered tile adhesive powder should be done using a mechanical mixer (drill + blade) and mixing should be continued until a uniform paste is obtained.
- Powder should always be added to water, because if mixed in reverse, we will not achieve a homogeneous dough.
- Apply the tile adhesive mortar to the surface with a notched trowel.
- Place the ceramic tile on the surface, install and secure it.
- It is recommended to apply a little glue to the back of the tile.
- Note that the powder mixed with water should be used within a maximum of 35 minutes after mixing, and the tiles should be installed within a maximum of 20 minutes after application to the surface.
- ix with water

Mechanism of action of powder tile adhesive
Powdered tile adhesive is modeled and produced from cement, copolymer resins, and micronized fillers, which, after mixing with water, become an adhesive mortar, which is used to adhere various types of tiles and ceramics to various surfaces. The presence of cement and copolymer resins in the formulation of powder tile adhesive has resulted in ideal adhesion to the underlying surfaces. Also, the presence of dispersing agents in the form of this product makes it possible to have more open time (gel time) available for installing tiles and ceramics. The property of this type of tile adhesive , increasing the gel time, will make it possible to move and adjust the tile on the tile mortar more easily.
Powder tile adhesive standard
BS EN 12004 – ASTM C482 standard
