Product Description – Paste Tile Adhesive (Polymer)
For all stages of tile and ceramic installation, new products have been produced and introduced to the market, which have special advantages and characteristics. One of the most important tiling processes is installing tiles to the substrate. In old methods, traditional mortars (a combination of stone powder and cement) were usually used for tiling. However, currently, the use of traditional mortars for tile installation is obsolete and special ready-made adhesives are used for installing ceramic tiles on floors and walls. One of the most common adhesives used for tiling is paste tile adhesive. Paste tile adhesive is based on acrylic resins, mineral powders and thickening agents. In addition to quickly installing tiles and reducing the weight of building materials, paste tile adhesive also increases the interior space of the building, because in the old methods, the tile was placed 4 to 5 centimeters from the wall and the back was filled with cement slurry, which not only used a lot of materials, but also occupied a large volume of the interior space of the place. However, when using tile adhesive, this product is applied to the wall with a thickness of 4 to 5 mils and then the tile is installed on it. Paste tile adhesive is a ready-to-use product and is simply applied to the surface in a thin layer with a comb spatula. Also, using polymer paste adhesive increases the waterproofing coefficient and resistance to moisture.
Paste tile adhesive is a type of ready-mixed construction adhesive that can be used for tiling immediately after opening the container. This product can also be used on all interior and exterior surfaces of the building.
Polymer paste tile adhesive packaging
What is the packaging of paste tile adhesive like?
5 kg bucket
12.5 kg bucket
25 kg bucket
Consumption of polymer paste tile adhesive
How much waterproof paste tile adhesive should be used?
The amount of paste tile adhesive used depends on the condition of the subfloor (imperfections, unevenness, and tile grooves), but typically 2.5 kilograms of tile adhesive is sufficient for one square meter.
Maintaining polymer paste tile adhesive
What are the proper storage conditions for waterproof paste tile adhesive?
Duration: Six months in original packaging box
Conditions: Away from cold and frost, heat and direct and prolonged sunlight keepdry
Best storage temperature: +10 to +30 degrees
How to use polymer paste tile adhesive
How to use polymer paste tile adhesive?
Processing:
- The surface to be used for applying paste tile adhesive must be free of any type of contamination, dust, oil, etc.
- If there is dirt and dust on the tile surface, clean the surface of the dirt using water pressure (waterjet) or sandblasting.
- The surface to be treated with tile adhesive requires preparation and curing, and surface treatment methods can vary depending on the surface material.
Wallpaper underlayment: In the first step, remove the paper from the wall, then apply a small amount of primer. Then, with a notched trowel, spread the paste tile adhesive on the wall to a maximum area of one square meter and a thickness of 3 to 4 mm, and install the tile on the surface coated with paste tile adhesive within 5 to 10 minutes.
Plaster underlayment: Before installing the tile, the plaster surface should be impregnated with primer (the primer can be a diluted solution of concrete adhesive) and then applied.
Underlayment: Remove any grease from the tile surface and completely remove the glaze from the tile by sanding. Then apply a layer of primer to the surface and then apply paste tile adhesive to the surface and adhere the tile.
Cement or concrete subfloor: First, apply a layer of primer on the surface, then spread the paste tile adhesive on the surface with a spatula and adhere the tile.
Note:
- Tile installed with paste tile adhesive reaches final strength after 48 hours.
- After reaching final strength, the strapping operation can begin.
- The desired surface can be used 2 days after sealing.
- To install tiles with paste tile adhesive, at least 60% of the back of the tile must be covered with adhesive.
Properties and effects of polymer paste tile adhesive
What are the properties and effectiveness of waterproof paste tile adhesive?
- Extremely high strength, durability and adhesion
- Increasing gel time for tile installation
- Easy to use and fast execution
- Excellent adhesion to old tile surfaces
- Increasing the interior space of the building
- Adequate flexibility against vibrations and limited building movements
- Increased waterproofing and moisture resistance
- Possibility of production in different colors
- Reducing the weight of the structure, due to the reduction in the thickness of the tiling products
- No pollution or dust is created by mixing materials to make tile mortar inside the building.
Application of polymer paste tile adhesive
What are the benefits of using waterproof paste tile adhesive?
- Installing ceramic tiles on walls and floors
- Possibility of gluing natural stones on horizontal and vertical surfaces
- Possibility of applying paste tile adhesive on a large surface and the possibility of gluing a large number of tiles in one step
- Suitable for use in gluing artificial stones
- Suitable for installing tiles in toilets and bathrooms.
- Can be glued to stone and tiles on stairs and hallways
- Suitable for use on asbestos sheets
- Applicable on all types of concrete, plaster and stone surfaces.
- Can be used in structures that have tension, expansion, and contraction.
Mechanism of action of paste tile adhesive
What is the mechanism of action of waterproof paste tile adhesive?
Paste tile adhesive is modeled and produced from emulsion resins, mineral fillers, and special dispersing and thickening agents. The emulsion resin contained in the formulation of paste tile adhesive increases the adhesion of the tile to the surface and, in addition, can make the tile mortar waterproof to a large extent. This topic can prevent water from penetrating to the lower floors in the bathroom, kitchen, and toilet tiling. On the other hand, the presence of dispersing and thickening agents in the paste tile adhesive increases the gel time and provides the tiler with more time to install the tile.
