Sealing, insulating and protecting concrete surfaces is always a concern in concrete structures. This category is often seen, especially in old structures that do not use the technologies currently available for internal and surface sealing of concrete. Hence, it can be referred to as pools, tanks, elevator shafts, etc. Also, in many new projects, according to the employer, internal waterproofing of concrete is not done or the pool or structure in question is made of materials such as blocks and bricks that require sealing of concrete after the construction of the structure. Z2000 two-component polymer sealant is a very suitable option for sealing concrete surfaces. This sealing mortar is a modified polymer product, based on cement and aggregates and acrylic resin, and has elasticity, stability and very high adhesion to the surface. Z2000 polymer sealant can be easily applied to surfaces. Using this product also eliminates dampness and moisture transfer from the surface. How to use two-component elastomeric sealant
How to use two-component elastomeric waterproofing?
Preparation:
The surface to be treated with Z2000 elastomeric water seal must be free of any contamination, dust, loose particles, grease or any type of coating. If you see cracks or seams on the surface, repair the seam with repair materials and if the seams are deep, use polyurethane mastic for sealing. If you want to seal the surface of the pool, seal around all water inlet and outlet pipes, lights and anything inside the surface with polyurethane mastic.
Stretch all the corners to about 3×3.
It is recommended to apply a primer layer to the surface before applying this product to increase the adhesion of the sealing mortar to the surface.
Choose a suitable container and pour the liquid component into it while the electric mixer (drill + blade) is on, gradually add the powder to it, and continue mixing until a homogeneous and uniform mortar product is obtained.
Be sure to irrigate the desired surface with fresh water before applying.
This product can be easily applied with a spatula or brush.
Apply the first layer in one direction (vertically or horizontally).
Apply the second layer in the opposite direction to the first layer when the first layer is not yet dry (about 3 to 4 hours after applying the first layer). It is recommended to use fiberglass mesh between the two layers to improve the properties and increase the life and elasticity of the sealing layer, so that the sealing layer is, so to speak, reinforced.
Tips:
Keep surfaces moist for 48 to 72 hours after application.
The ambient temperature when using this product should not exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
Make sure that the thickness of each layer applied with Z2000 elastomeric sealant should not exceed 1 mm.
Do not change the formulated weight ratio of powder and liquid in any way.
Always mix as much as is required based on the surface area and should be applied within a maximum of 20 minutes.
