Product Description – Profab Epoxy Stone Adhesive
In the building facade, the use of epoxy stone adhesive has many applications. Today, slab stones also play a large role in covering the interior and exterior walls of buildings, which are glued with epoxy stone adhesive. These stones have a wide variety of designs and colors, and are also very effective in beautifying the interior and exterior spaces of the building.
In the past, old methods were used to install and adhere ceramic tiles and stone facades. Old methods included dry mortars or traditional mortars, which did not have the desired performance and also caused the stone to fall from horizontal surfaces. To solve the existing problem, materials such as scoops, wires, screws and dowels were used, which resulted in high costs and also did not produce a definitive and desirable result.
This product is a powerful product that is based on epoxy and has also been modified based on nanotechnology. This product, with a 1:1 ratio, can install all types of slabs and building stones without the need for screws, dowels, etc. to all types of surfaces and building materials with very high strength.
One of the excellent features of this adhesive is that there is no need to cover the entire area of the stone with adhesive, and by covering 10% of the space behind the stone with epoxy stone adhesive, a very strong connection is formed. Other advantages include lightening the building. This product includes many features, and another unique feature of epoxy stone adhesive is that it can be used to attach the stone directly to metal surfaces. In the method of installing the stone using epoxy stone adhesive, the weight of the stone is on the stone itself, and in other methods, the weight of the stone (such as scoops and bolts) is on them, and if they are removed, the stone will be thrown down.
In general, this masonry product is a two-component adhesive that is specifically formulated for bonding natural stone materials. This product is suitable and used in construction and stone-related applications in both interior and exterior spaces. After combining the two components, it creates a high-strength bond and can effectively fill gaps. Due to its viscosity, this adhesive creates very strong adhesion on various materials including stone, marble, porcelain and wood. Finally, using this product makes them very resistant to impact and water.

Mechanism of action of Profab epoxy stone adhesive
Epoxy stone adhesive forms a molecular bond with the substrate surface. For this purpose, it has a bond equal to the life of the structure.
Properties and effects of Profab epoxy stone adhesive
- For installation, there is no need to groove or thin the stone sections.
- There is no need for reinforcing steel or creating a metal base to install stones and slabs.
- It has the ability to correct surface irregularities due to the high elasticity properties of epoxy stone adhesive.
- Capable of withstanding thermal shock up to 125 degrees Celsius
- It has a durable and long-lasting connection equal to the life of the structure.
- There is no possibility of separation or collapse due to structural shaking and earthquakes.
- It has high durability against freeze-thaw cycles.
- It has the ability to be mixed very easily due to the 1:1 ratio of hardener and resin.
- No wire, screws or bolts required for installation.
- It has the ability to run at high speed and very easily.
- Operational costs are significantly reduced.
- Due to the much smaller volume of adhesive used, it greatly contributes to the lightening of the building compared to other similar methods.
- It has the ability to create a molecular bonding mechanism between the stone and the underlying surface.
- It has the ability to save at least 50% on project stone installation time.

How to use Profab epoxy stone adhesive
How to use Profab epoxy stone adhesive?
Step 1: Preparing the surface to be applied
Initially, all surfaces to be applied must be free of any contamination such as grease, dust, etc. and must also be completely dry.
In the next step, the surface of the stone or tile, or any piece that is to be glued with epoxy adhesive, must be prepared so that it reaches the surface of the solid, pure stone substrate behind it, then covered and attached with adhesive.
If necessary, remove dust from the back of the stone with a bristle brush and finally clean the remaining dust from the surface with a damp sponge. Finally, dry the desired surface completely with a cloth.
Step two: Mixing the epoxy stone adhesive for application
Before mixing the two components of epoxy stone adhesive, it must be kept at room temperature for 24 hours.
As previously mentioned, combine the first and second components in equal proportions (one to one by volume) and continue mixing with a spatula for about two minutes until a smooth dough is obtained.
Important note: It is essential to use equal proportions of components A and B when mixing, and if the ratio of this mixture is not observed, the desired physical properties will not be achieved.
Epoxy stone adhesive can be applied to the back of tiles in two ways: by applying a layer or by applying a layer of adhesive.
Step Three: How to Use Epoxy Stone Glue
Applying epoxy stone adhesive in pieces
To glue small stones up to 100 x 100 cm, the adhesive can be applied in the form of a bead on the back of the stone. Note that in the two bead application methods, at least 10% of the tile area must be covered with adhesive. The diameter of the beads is directly related to the stone dimensions and is empirically determined according to the table.
The pattern of placement of the tiles in square and rectangular tiles is as follows:
Biting pattern for square stones:
Biting pattern for rectangular stones:
2. Applying stone adhesive in layers
Another method of applying stone adhesive behind tiles is in layers. The layer thickness for small stones is 3 to 6 mm, and for large stones and tile slabs it is 6 to 12 mm. These sizes vary in thickness on vertical and inclined surfaces.
In the layered stone adhesive application method, the stone adhesive must cover at least 10% of the area behind the stone. The amount of stone adhesive used can be calculated based on the angle of placement in the table below.
To attach stone to block and clay surfaces, it is necessary to apply a 2-centimeter-thick layer of plaster made from a mixture of sand and cement mortar and concrete adhesive to the surface to prepare the surface for attaching the stone with the help of Profab epoxy stone adhesive.
To adhere the stone to the surface, it is better to apply 70% of the calculated adhesive to the back of the stone and 30% to the surface under the work.
