Product Description – Powdered Concrete Supplement
Powdered concrete additive is a developed product consisting of a polynaphthalene-based concrete lubricant, microsilica powder ( microsilica gel ), water-binding agents, catalysts, fillers, and polypropylene fibers, which are presented in powder form. This product is added to dry materials during concrete production, and then concrete water is added to it. In addition to increasing slump during concrete production and increasing efficiency and workability due to the presence of a lubricant in its formulation, this material prevents water absorption and, as a result, reduces the permeability of hardened concrete. These properties are due to the presence of silica fume nanoparticles and water-binding agents in the formulation of the powdered concrete additive. Also, the polypropylene fibers in the powdered concrete additive increase the mechanical and abrasion properties of concrete. One of the features of this additive is its ability to increase the compressive strength of concrete by about 40 to 60 percent.
Concrete admixtures are essential components that are added to the concrete mix to enhance its properties. Concrete admixtures include liquids and powders that are added to the concrete in small amounts during mixing, and one of these additives is powdered concrete supplement.

Amount of powdered concrete supplement consumption
The exact amount of powdered concrete additive will be determined by conducting proper site tests and environmental conditions and required strengths, but the typical amount of powdered concrete additive is 5 to 8 percent of the weight of the cement used. It is recommended that a water to cement ratio of 0.4 be considered when adding powdered concrete additive.
Powdered concrete supplement maintenance
Duration: One year in original packaging.
Conditions: Away from cold and frost, heat and direct and prolonged sunlight.
Best storage temperature: +10 to +30 degrees
Method of using powdered concrete supplement
Powdered concrete additives can be added to the mixture in two ways:
1 – The best way to add powdered concrete additive is to add it to the dry materials in the first stage, and after combining it with the dry materials, mixing water is added and mixed.
2 – Powdered concrete supplement can also be added to ready-mixed concrete.
Note: To achieve complete mixing and a homogeneous and uniform mixture, mixing should be done for at least 1 minute per cubic meter of concrete.

Mechanism of action of powdered concrete supplement
When mixing water and cement, the polynaphthalene sulfonate molecules in the powdered concrete supplement formulation form a charged membrane around the cement particles. In this way, they repel the cement grains in the concrete mixture from each other and also make the concrete fluid. Naphthalene sulfonate prevents the dissolution of ions such as aluminates, which have the highest dissolution rate during the hydration process. Also, the silica fume in the powdered concrete supplement, after being added to the concrete mixture, the active Sio2 in the silica fume combines with the free calcium hydroxide solution Ca(OH)2 present in the capillary and microscopic pores of the concrete and produces insoluble calcium silicate crystals, which ultimately increases the density of the concrete, reduces its permeability, and enhances some of its properties.
