How many HEXARC X4040 paving molds are needed for flooring?
Depending on the size of the area to be paved and the time available, you can use fewer or more forms to pave the area using the concrete paving method. The more forms, the faster the construction will be and the more time you can allow for the initial setting of the mortar. It is recommended to use at least 2 paving templates for paving, and this can be increased to 10 or more in large areas.

What is the method of paving with the HEXARC X4040 concrete paving template?
- One of the most important basic principles for paving the environment with a mold is the specific physical conditions of the cement mortar suitable for pouring into the molds. Be careful that the grade of the mortar used should not be less than 300 and it is recommended to consider grade 350 for making concrete paving mortar. Another important point is to use mortar or concrete with a slump of 4 to 6 for paving the area with the help of a paving template. Keep in mind that if concrete with a high slump and fluidity is used, the work cycle and mold removal time will increase.
- It is recommended to lubricate the molds with oil or diesel before arranging and pouring mortar.
- Arrange the paving forms together according to the number of HEXARC X4040 formwork available.
- Saturate the bottom of the molds with fresh water to prevent the concrete mix from absorbing water before it reaches initial set.
- Pour the mortar into the stencil cells with a trowel and level it.
- If you plan to use multiple colors within the cells, you can use smaller trowels to pour mortar into the mold for greater precision.
- After all the cells of the mold are filled, give the surface a few gentle taps with the palm of your hand or the sole of a trowel to vibrate it and make it more dense.
- Depending on weather conditions, the mortar needs to remain in the mold for about 2 to 3 hours to reach initial setting.
- It should be noted that when removing the molds, the stencil should be removed vertically so as not to damage the patterned concrete and cause it to peel off.
- After demolding, the surface must be cured by spraying water for at least 3 days.
- Depending on the ambient temperature and the concrete mix used, you can walk on the surface 24 to 48 hours after casting, and after 7 days the surface is ready to operate and withstand heavy loads such as vehicle traffic.
- After finishing the work, wash the molds with water and a brush and store them in a suitable place.
