Concrete liquid retarder
Description
Description: Concrete liquid retarder
Liquid concrete is a liquid additive based on gluconates and dehydrating materials. This product after being added to the concrete causes delay in the time of settling and slows down the progress of hydration reaction.

Features:
- Suitable for all types of Portland cement
- Ability to increase the vibration time of concrete
- Increased concrete resistance in long term
Applications:
- It is suitable for concreting in tropical areas
- Suitable for implementation of projects that need to control concrete retention in the early and final stages
- For bulky and semi-voluminous concretes such as dams and bridges, etc. . Suitable

Product Description – Liquid Concrete Retarder
Liquid concrete retarder is a liquid admixture formulated and produced based on gluconates and setting retarders. Liquid concrete retarder is an efficient product that, when added to concrete, delays setting time and slows down the progress of the hydration reaction. Also, the use of liquid concrete retarder enables the production of bulky concrete.
In situations where rapid setting of concrete or mortar due to weather conditions can have negative effects on its stability and properties, the use of liquid concrete retarder is a good option to control the initial setting time. For this reason, the use of this product is highly recommended in hot weather conditions and large-scale concreting. The use of this product increases the workability time of concrete in a paste state. The use of retarder is also very suitable for implementing projects that require control of concrete setting in the initial and final stages.
Liquid concrete retarder is a chemical concrete admixture used in concrete manufacturing to reduce the setting time of fresh concrete. The retarder helps to achieve a specific surface and improve the workability of concrete and is also produced for water-based surfaces and is suitable for exposed concrete surfaces. Liquid retarder admixture can delay the initial set of cement hydration according to the dosage used. After the programmed delay, the hardening of concrete accelerates. This product is very useful in tropical and hot climates. Note that when using these products, use it according to the manufacturer’s instructions to achieve the desired results in your concrete projects.

Consumption rate of liquid concrete retarder
The amount of concrete retardation by a liquid concrete retarding admixture depends on various factors including air temperature, concrete grade, concrete temperature, and the desired time to delay the setting of the concrete. Accordingly, the exact amount of the additive should be determined by detailed field tests. Typically, the amount of this additive used is 0.2 to 0.4 of the weight of the cement used.
Liquid concrete retarder maintenance
Duration: One year in original packaging.
Conditions: Away from cold and frost, heat and direct and prolonged sunlight.
Best storage temperature: +10 to +30 degrees
Method of using liquid concrete retarder
Liquid concrete retarder is added to concrete in the following ways:
1 – The amount of concrete admixture calculated according to the grade of concrete should be diluted with 2 times the volume of concrete mixing water. The diluted admixture should be added gradually to the concrete during mixing.
2 – Liquid concrete retarder can be added to the batching or truck mixer during concrete production.
Note: It is recommended to mix for at least 1 minute per cubic meter of concrete.
3 – This additive can be added to the ready-mixed concrete and, after complete mixing, concreting can be carried out.
Note: Be careful not to pour the liquid concrete retarding admixture directly onto dry cement.

Mechanism of the retarding effect of liquid concrete
Liquid concrete retarders prevent the dissolution of ions that have the highest solubility during the initial hydration period. For example, aluminate and calcium ions can be mentioned. Due to their polar properties in aqueous solutions, the molecules of the liquid concrete retarder admixture delay the start of the hydration process by delaying the saturation of calcium ions in the concrete mixture, and ultimately the final setting of the concrete is also delayed.

Safety of liquid concrete retarders
- This material is not toxic, flammable, or dangerous to humans or the environment.
- The retarder should never come into contact with the eyes or be swallowed. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Wear appropriate goggles, masks, and gloves when using.
- In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of fresh water.
