The implementation of hard wear-resistant concrete and the implementation of concrete for flooring in high-traffic areas and under high applied forces is always a problem for respected contractors. The amount of floor hardening powder used for concrete flooring is 4 to 6 kilograms. However, it is recommended that the amount of this material used per square meter of surface should not be less than 5 kilograms.

How to use spray dry powder

To apply anti-wear floor hardening powder, the underlying concrete must have the following characteristics:

Minimum concrete grade 300 kg/cubic meter

Minimum water to cement ratio of 40 percent

Maximum water to cement ratio 55 percent

Concrete slump 7 to 10 cm

Maximum air in concrete 3%

Minimum concrete thickness 8 cm.

Minimum compressive strength of concrete 30 Newtons per square millimeter

Applying on old concrete: To apply on old concrete, you must first apply a layer of reinforced concrete at least 8 centimeters thick on the surface and then perform the dry spray hardening operation of the floor according to the instructions in the section (Applying on new concrete).

Application on fresh concrete: First, the floor concrete is made in accordance with standard criteria and when it reaches the appropriate setting (just when the shoe marks remain on the surface as a result of walking on the fresh concrete but do not sink in), spread the floor hardening powder as a dry spray, according to the consumption per square meter, on the surface and immediately perform the initial leveling of the surface with a hand trowel or electric trowel. Then, when the concrete strength reaches a level that can withstand a person standing on it, proceed with the final leveling of the surface with a butterfly trowel. After completing the leveling of the surface, the surface should be treated by spraying water for at least 48 hours.
