Product Description – Polyurethane Mastic
In order to prevent the expansion and contraction of the building and prevent damage due to changes in the temperature of the outside environment of the building or to prevent the transfer of the load of the adjacent old building to the newly constructed building, as well as in cases where the building is large and consists of several connected blocks, expansion joints should be considered in appropriate places, according to various parameters, including the number of floors, materials used, and the climate of the building site. Also, in large floors, such as the floors of large industrial halls or road pavements, concreting cannot be done in one stage and appropriate execution joints should be considered in the design of the structure, considering the size of the surface and thickness of the concreting. Filling these execution and expansion joints after construction with ordinary mortars is not allowed and a material is needed that has high adhesive strength and elasticity at the same time, so that the joint after filling is durable enough against structural stresses. Polyurethane mastic is a powerful and efficient product for filling construction and expansion joints. This product is a one-component, high-strength sealant based on polyurethane resins, which, upon absorbing moisture from the air, becomes a solid, elastic and flexible physical state and is used to adjust and control the movement of various joints. Polyurethane mastic is a ready-to-use product and can be easily applied to formed joints. Polyurethane sealant is commonly used to repair and restore structural joints and cracks. This product can also be used in different temperature ranges.
Generally, this product, also known as polyurethane sealant, is an advanced type of sealant and adhesive. This product is widely used in many construction and repair scenarios due to its versatility and exceptional performance. It is a single-component sealant mastic that cures quickly when in contact with atmospheric moisture. This product forms a tough and elastic sealant with a medium to high modulus of elasticity. It is also commonly used for sealing vertical and horizontal joints. When fully cured, it provides excellent waterproofing. This sealant exhibits excellent adhesion to various common construction materials including metal and fiberglass. This product is used as an adhesive for bonding purposes. This product remains permanently elastic in all weather conditions and temperatures and is also suitable for outdoor use. Ultimately, it can be said that this product is valuable for sealing, bonding and providing long-term performance in various construction and repair applications. Their elasticity, weather resistance, and adhesive properties have made them a popular choice in the industry.

How to use polyurethane mastic
- If there is any contamination, dust, or loose spots, remove the contamination from the surface using water pressure (water jet) or sanding.
- All joints intended for the application of polyurethane mastic must be free of any loose particles, dust, paint, grease, water, and any moisture or contaminants.
- If there is moisture or humidity in the section where the mastic is to be applied, dry it using heat or other methods, because applying polyurethane mastic to a wet section may cause bubbles.
- Apply the primer to the surface at least 3 hours and a maximum of 6 hours before applying the mastic.
- Porous surfaces must be smoothed by sanding, sandblasting, or other methods.
- The minimum age of concrete for applying polyurethane sealant is 28 days.
- It is recommended to coat the substrate surface with a primer to increase adhesion.
- To polish and polish the final surfaces, use a spatula or trowel dipped in detergent.
- If the polyurethane mastic product has not been applied to the prepared sections after 6 hours of applying the primer, apply the primer again.
- To apply mastic, it is necessary that the width and depth of the application be equal, so that the section where the mastic is applied takes on a square shape.
- Polyurethane mastic is applied using a special mastic injection gun. Polyurethane sealant is applied using manual and pneumatic guns with a maximum pressure of 3.5 kg.

Mechanism of action of polyurethane mastic
What is the mechanism of action of polyurethane sealant?
Polyurethane sealant mastic is a very powerful adhesive based on polyurethane resins, which after application to the joint will cause a permanent connection and effectively fill the joint. Polyurethane mastic will not harden completely after setting and after complete drying, it is like a rubber with high elasticity and ideal resistance to structural stresses and will not break apart.
Polyurethane mastic safety
